Cardinal Three and Writing Contests

As a part of Cardinal Three, all 8th graders are expected to publish one piece of writing and all 7th graders are required to attempt publication. One of the most exciting ways to work towards this goal is entering a writing contest. You could complete your Cardinal Three requirement AND win something!!

Once again, this year we will be entering the Letters About Literature writing contest. 7th graders, this fulfills your Cardinal Three requirement (your welcome!). The contest begins this month so we will be looking at the winning letters from the last few years and begin the process of perfecting our own. I will also be posting links to a variety of other writing contests. I want to encourage all of you to enter as many contests as you feel that you can handle. Know that I am willing and happy to spend as much time as is necessary with each and everyone of you, brainstorming, discussing, proof-reading, and editing your writing selections.
*Heads up to you 8th graders - Some of these contests could double as both a service project and a publication.
